Your role with us

As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learn and take responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and collaboration, through good leadership both in and out of the classroom. The position includes driving language development work together with teachers in after-school care during part of the summer break.

Teaching is designed based on the curriculum's goals where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important cornerstones. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt the teaching based on all students' levels, focusing on the best interests of the student.

Through dialogue, you create good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you keep yourself updated on events in the world and the everyday lives of young people. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. In a systematic way, you reflect on the practical work, and together with colleagues, you drive development work in the workgroup/school. You also have a shared responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you will be supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work, and if you are an unqualified teacher, you can teach but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a qualified teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach Swedish in grades 1-3 in elementary school. Secondly, we are looking for someone with subject knowledge at the university level in the above subject. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical training at the university level. Knowledge of language development methods such as decoding and reading comprehension is required. Previous experience as a teacher in elementary school is an advantage.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's conditions, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, a conducive working atmosphere, and a desire to learn. You have engagement, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is affected by the outside world.

A success factor is your ability to create trusting relationships both in and out of school. Furthermore, you are a confident pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the workgroup's methods for continuous development.

Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure your work based on specified goals.

As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and well-acquainted with the ethical principles for teachers and have the ability to analyze and document students' abilities and knowledge.

To be considered for your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If there are no qualified licensed teachers, you can be employed temporarily as an unqualified teacher according to the Education Act. When we want to offer you the position, you must present an extract from the police record for us to be able to employ you, according to the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

This is us

We are about 55 employees who guide nearly 500 students through their school days. In addition to educators, we have our award-winning school librarian, administrator, janitor, special educator, special teacher, speech therapist, counselor, school nurse, cleaning and meal staff, as well as student assistants. In the management organization, there are three principals for grades F-9 and after-school care.

Fjälkinge School is located in the Fjälkinge locality about ten kilometers east of Kristianstad. Currently, there is a preschool class, two classes per grade in 1-3, one class per grade in 4-6, and in grades 7-9, three classes per grade. In grades 7-9, there is a football academy in collaboration with Malmö FF.

The Department of Education and Training conducts educational activities ranging from preschool to adult education.
